Lot 9037
A BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER Qing Dynasty
Fine quality bronze with glowing chestnut colored skin. The piece consists of a plate-like opening, a narrowed neck, a flat round abdominal and a round base supported by three short elephant legs. On the bottom, the four-characters, Precious Toy to be Kept Forever, are written in seal script and embossed in a square frame. The elegant bronze censer features three distinct lines formed by the rim of the plate-like opening and the concave contour where the neck narrows. Such beautiful curves are precisely the most important characteristic of the Li Style censer.
