Lot 9006
A BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER WITH BRIDGE EARS Qing Dynasty
The whole body is sedately bright and smooth whilst the mouth is round with a protruding rim. A pair of bridge-shaped ears can be found on the edge of the mouth. The mouth's edge flows into a beam neck and a gently tapering drum abdominal. The piece is supported by three legs. The bottom bears a square framed mark with Xuande written in a horizontal script. The inscription, read from right to left, is written in square, evenly distributed characters. The shape and the scale of the censer are in perfect harmony. Since this item has bridge ears shaped like a tiger's eyes, it is therefore aptly referred to as being Tiger Eye Bridge Eared.
