A BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER WITH TWO EARS Qing Dynasty
Superior quality copper radiating a deep chestnut color. The whole body has a round mouth with a flat rim and shoulders that slope into a hanging abdominal. A pair of handles are on either side of the outside wall. The abdominal dramatically tapers off and the bottom is supported by three legs. At the bottom, inside a square frame, are the characters Xiu Xu. J.. This censer has a fat abdominal with a round, sagging belly held up by three fat legs. The delicate handles add to the graceful beauty of the piece, making so as that those who hold it feel that they cannot put it down.
