Lot 9014
A BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER WITH SKYWARD EARS Qing Dynasty
The copper is smooth with a chestnut coloration while the inside is of a dark brown. It has a round mouth with a protruding rim. On the edge of the rim is a pair of skyward ears. The beam neck is short whilst the gently slimming abdominal section is flat and wide. There are three legs at the bottom as well as the mark, Made in the Xuande Period of the Ming Dynasty, in a square frame. The inscription is written in wide, evenly-spaced characters which wander like lines through jade. This item's simple yet elegant character, even though it has no decorative pattern, will make people ruminate time and again, like an echo in an empty valley.
