Lot 9031
A BRONZE CENSER WITH HALBERD EARS Qing Dynasty
Thin walls made of hard material with a leathery, wax covered surface, intricate and serene. Starting with a round mouth, a closed neck curves down from the shoulders into a round abdominal before tightening up again toward the bottom and finishing with a circular bearing ring. Twin cylindrical halberd shaped handles can be seen on each side of the shoulders. The lines of the handles intertwine in an elegant yet powerful manner. Stamped on the bottom in the middle are the words Zhong Xiang in Zhuanti style characters. The entire vessel is simple and natural with an elegant charm.
