A BRONZE DRAGON EARS CENSER Qing Dynasty
Beautiful quality pure bronze with a crab-shell like green skin. A round opening with a flat rim drops down smoothly from the straight neck. A pair of dragon handles reach out from either side of the neck and abdominal section, showing simple and graceful contours. A flat drum abdominal gradually narrows into a wide, round, outward turning foot. On the bottom, the three rows of characters, Made in the Xuande Period of the Ming Dynasty, are written across three lines in regular script and are embossed in a square frame. The diameter of the opening is quite proportional to that of the round foot. Due to the curves of the flat drum abdominal, the piece gives off a calm and solemn look. This abstract outline is precisely what captures the heart of collectors.
