Lot 9002
A BRONZE TRIPOD CENSER Qing Dynasty
Excellent pure copper with a relatively good color. A round mouth with a flat rim extending into a beam neck. Slightly flat drum abdominal and a flat bottom. Held up by three legs, the bottom displays the mark, Made in the Xuande Period of the Ming Dynasty written across three rows. Nicely colored, straight inscriptions weave densely around the body. Solid, heavy copper emits a bright chestnut shine whilst contours run in accord with the item's scale. I could be said that this censer is superbly proportioned.
