A BRONZE FOUR-LEGGED SQUARE CENSER WITH RUYI EARS Qing Dynasty
The bronze body has a waxed-colored glossy exterior with a flat square rim, a beam neck, dropped shoulders and a squared circular abdominal. A pair of Ruyi ears with simple contours is positioned on either side of the neck. The round bottom is held up by four legs turned outward, giving off the appearance of water droplets. At the bottom, embossed a square frame, are the characters Song Yue Lu written in Seal Script. This bronze censer features a deep abdominal with an appearance that is similar to the sacrificial vessels of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties. Simple yet elegant, it features an exquisite image of abstract lines.
