WU Yung-hsiang 吳詠香
Taiwanese 1913-1970

Wu Yung-Hsiang was born in Fujian in 1913. She was graduated from the Beijing Arts Academy and later worked in the Chinese Paintings section at the Antiquities Museum in Beijing. During her career at the museum, she studied from ancient paintings and imitated Northern style landscape paintings. She excelled in all genres, landscapes, flowers, figures, gongbi and abstract paintings. She was a student of Qi Baishi, Pu Hsinyu and was acclaimed as an outstanding female student of Hanyu Studio. Wu also taught at the Faculty of Arts at the National Taiwan Normal University.
