Seleka Muñoz (b. 1982, Seville, Spain) is a Spanish contemporary artist, cultural promoter, curator, and gallery owner. He is regarded as a pioneer of graffiti art in the Andalusia region.
Muñoz began his artistic journey at the age of 10 in 1993, painting graffiti on the streets of Seville. He became a significant figure in the Spanish graffiti scene during the late 90s and early 2000s. In addition to his creative practice, he is the co-founder of Delimbo Gallery, known for its support of urban and contemporary art.
As a self-taught artist, Muñoz consciously moved away from the traditional norms of the graffiti movement (such as spray paint, markers, and walls) in his studio practice, exploring instead the realms of traditional oil painting and canvas. His studio work focuses on contemporary abstract painting, blending the energy and sense of movement from graffiti with traditional academic painting knowledge. He utilizes avant-garde techniques to create layered works rich in texture, color intensity, and expressiveness, demonstrating a timeless abstract style that bridges the boundaries between graffiti and contemporary art. His work follows two clearly distinct creative paths: abstract compositions in the studio using traditional materials, and ongoing unsanctioned graffiti creations in the street.
His works have been exhibited in cities across Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Italy, the United States, Mexico, and Morocco.
