Alex Katz was born in Brooklyn, New York. He attended the Cooper Union Art School in Manhattan and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine to study art. His work has been shown in museums around the world in a frequent manner since the 1960s. Alex Katz currently lives and works between New York and Maine.
