Courtesy name Ping-zhi, a native of Panyu, Guangdong. In his early years, he studied painting under Zhang Gu-chu and graduated from the Guangzhou Municipal Art College. Following the War of Resistance, he relocated to Hong Kong, dedicating himself to art education and creation. Integrating the brushwork of the Four Masters of the Yuan Dynasty and the Four Monks of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, he created an abbreviated-brush landscape style marked by clean, elegant, and otherworldly grace.
