Born in 1955 Pennsylvania, USA, Jeff Koons graduated from School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and later from Maryland Institute College of Art, Koons worked as a broker in Wall Street, in the same time publishing some of his art works. In the 1980s, Koons’s works often brought him a lot of debate but also brought him the attentions around the world. Being a controversial artist, Koons engages a verity of creation forms, such as Films, videos, sculptures, and installation arts. In the 1985, he launched an exhibition named Equilibrium in where he put three basketballs in three different tank, and the balls floating still. The creation “The Balls Total Equilibrium Tank, 1985” appealed the curiosity of the viewers’ also be considered as revolutionary as “Fontaine” by Duchamp. His later works are often sourced by “Ready-made-Objects, or vulgar images from the public culture and thus this has made him even more contentious, but also delivered him a significant fame. His famous art work, a giant Balloon Dog (orange) won him the one of the most expensive living artist in the world. His art works have been collected by numerous museums and collectors which makes his creations collectable.
