Born in Taichung, Chiang Ming-Shyan is an important art teacher and advocate in Taiwan. Chiang was graduated from the Art Faculty of National Taiwan Normal University and obtained a master degree in Spain. Later he became professor at the Arts Faculty at the Chinese Culture Unversity and the Head of PhD Arts Faculty at the National Taiwan Normal Unversity. In 1988, Chiang obtained an artistic award from the National Culture and Arts Foundation. Chiang's works were exhibited in solo and joint exhibitions in Taiwan and worldwide.
