Born in Changhua, Taiwan. Wang So-ying graduated from the Art Department of Taipei Normal School. He was a member of Chinese Oil Painting Association and Central Taiwan Fine Arts Association. Wang has successively been awarded the top prize of Taiwan Art Teachers' Exhibition in 1971 and 1972, the Taiwan Province Government Award of the 27th Taiwan Provincial Fine Arts Exhibition and the Chung-hsing Art and Literature Medal in 1978. He held several exhibitions from 1974 to 1987 at the Provincial Library, Apollo Art Gallery, National Museum of History and Gauguin Gallery. Wang's work can be found in the public collections of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts.
